Yakima County is Washington's eighth most populous county with 243,231 people living in 40+ cities and unincorporated areas, including the county seat, Yakima with a population of 91,067.  Yakima is located about 140 miles southeast of Seattle, WA.

From my research I estimate Yakima County has approximately 60 gangs operating with membership close to 2,500.  The Nortenos and Surenos make up the majority of Yakima's gang membership, and are responsible for several violent crimes each year.

Almost every community in Yakima County has been affected by gangs, most of it is focused in the City of Yakima, and in the Lower Valley cities of Wapato, Toppenish, Granger, Sunnyside, Grandview and Mabton.
