There are several white race gangs in the Northwest. Two of the largest identify themselves as Skinheads or Neo-Nazis. Both groups are active in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana with several smaller fractions.

Skinheads groups are notoriously short-lived. Only a very few Skinhead groups have managed to survive for a significant length of time. Racist Skinheads may be found as members in almost any white supremacist group, but are most often found in neo-Nazi groups. Racist Skinhead activity can occur online or in the physical world. Musical events are the most popular gatherings for Skinheads. Skinheads ages range from teens to forties, although the majority appear to be in their late teens and early twenties. Their dress and appearance typically shave their heads, tattoo themselves heavily, and often wear skinhead-related clothes such as work boots and suspenders.

Neo-Nazis rarely use the word "Neo-Nazi" to describe themselves, often opting for labels such as National Socialist, Nationalist or related terms. Neo-Nazis often use the Indo-Aryan symbols that were used by Nazi Germany, such as the Swastika, Sig Runes and the red-white-black color scheme. They love to express Nazi, racist, and anti-Semitic views. They target Jews, Blacks, Asians, Hispanics, Arabs, Native Americans, homosexuals and Catholics. Some members have been convicted of crimes such as racketeering, conspiracy, violating civil rights and sedition.
