Mid-January update 01/18/2012
Wow this month is flying by fast, I didn't really realize how long it's been since my last update. Just a few things I want to let everyone know about. 1) With the help of a reliable source I've made a much needed update to the Eugene, Oregon gang listing. I don't believe it is 100% complete, but it is a good start! So I'm glad to get that headed in the right direction. 2) A new gang called "South Side Tokers" have been added to the Bellingham, Washington listing. They are a split from "South Side Whittier Tokers" gang. I am following up on two other Sureno gangs that I might add to this list in the near future. 3) Currently I am working on the Seattle gang territory Google map. I'm running into a few road blocks, but I should have it back online soon. Also I will be re-visiting my Seattle gang listing, primarily the Central District listing. I've been seeing a few things online that I want to get more info on, then make a update. 4) Last but not least, I am looking for feedback from my web viewers. You are the ones who visit this site, so I want to know what kind of information you are seeking when you visit Northwest Gangs. I can use all the help I can get so don't hesitate to send me a email at, northwestgangs@gmail.com That's all for now folks, so until next time, be safe!! -Brad- 10 Comments HAPPY NEW YEAR 01/03/2012
Well another year in the books for Northwest Gangs. The year 2011 was good for the website. The website had 84,842 views in 2011. I'm amazed how much my website has grown since I started my quest to find out what gangs were in our cities way back in 2004. Back then I didn't even know what the Gangster Disciples were or what side of Yakima the Surenos and Nortenos claimed. I have learned a lot! Thanks to everyone who visits my site, and please send me a email if you have any questions I can help you with. I will strive to bring you the most accurate information, and continue to run the best website on Northwest street gangs in 2012. -Brad- northwestgangs@gmail.com 2011 Drug Market Analysis Reports 12/14/2011
Recently the Nation Drug Intelligence Center updated their report for Washington State. I have removed the 2009 report and updated it with the 2011 report. You can now read or download this straight from my website by clicking here. -Brad- Happy Holidays! 12/13/2011
Another year is coming to a end, and I would like to thank everyone who has shown me support and viewed my website this year. Running a website on a subject a lot of people are afraid to talk about has it's difficulties, but I promise to continue my hard work and bring everyone the most accurate and up to date information on criminal street gangs in the Northwest. There are several things I would like to accomplish in the year 2012, one is make consistent revenue for the website. So if you are a business owner, or have a program or group you would like to advertise on my website please contact me at (northwestgangs@gmail.com). I can post advertising on my website for a small fee, pricing is negotiable. Other things I'm interested in are updating my gang territory maps. I believe some of them might be outdated, so I will work on updating those and creating new maps for cities that I don't currently have. I would like to get maps for Mount Vernon, Washington and Spokane, Washington published soon. Also I will revisit my gang listings for all the cities and counties and try to add new gangs that I don't have posted, or remove gangs that I believe are no longer in existence. Gangs change things up all the time, so it is important for me to stay on top of this to make sure I am publishing correct information. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Years! Be safe out there! -Brad- Just checking in 11/28/2011
I don't have a whole lot for my blog today, been kind of quiet around here. I just added two new names to the Gang death section. On the Flickr page I have added some new photos also. I hope to make my way around Seattle this weekend to try and find some new gang graffiti. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, and be safe out there! -Brad- Pretty slow lately 11/17/2011
Things have seemed to slow down for now. I haven't heard of much activity other than a few shootings here and there. I was in Yakima and Tacoma recently and took several new photos of gang graffiti. Visit my Flickr page to check those out. I'm working on several side projects, but nothing really new for the website. Although I did add one new gang to the Yakima listing, "Locos Por Vida" their graffiti has been showing up around Yakima, and I was told that they do have a small presence in the city. Anyways that's all for now, take care and have a safe Thanksgiving weekend next week! -Brad- Staying busy 11/01/2011
Hey everyone, a lot of different things going on this past week. The City of Yakima reported their 2nd gang homicide of the year. A "South Side Familia 13" gang member was shot and killed over the weekend. Also I've been following a gang story out of Eugene, Oregon. I guess two rival gangs "West Side Piru" and "S/S Playboys 13" were involved in some potential gun play. I'm really hoping I can get out and take graffiti photos this Saturday. My target area will be Tacoma-Lakewood, and Federal Way. Then in about 2 weeks I'm going to try my best to make it out to Grant County. That all depends on weather conditions and my car. Anyways thanks for following and check back later! -Brad Few updates... 10/18/2011
In the past month I've added or changed a few gang names on the website. In the Yakima section I've added Family Business, Project Kings Crew and XIV Ladies. FB and PKC both fall under the category of taggers, but have shown characteristics of being a street gangs, getting involved in assaults and shootings with rival crews. XIV Ladies is more or less the female branch of La Raza 14. In the Tacoma listing 97 Gangster Crips, is now Original Maniac Gangster Crips. And Trey-5 I had mislabeled as Bloods, and they are actually Gangster Disciples. In the King County listing a newer gang called "The Squad" has been added to the hybrid section. They have been described to me as a mixed race gang that has Bloods, Crips and Hustlers all in it. They can be found from Beacon Hill to West Seattle. (Click here for more info on HYBRID gangs) I'm looking for any feedback or help, so if you know of gangs I've missed, or should be edited please feel free to email me at, northwestgangs@gmail.com -Brad- Playing with the website.. 10/04/2011
I'm trying to change things up a little bit on the website, in the next few days I will be playing with the layout until I find something I really like.. This is kind of a sneak peak of what you seen now.. -Brad RIP MySpace 09/23/2011
I've decided after several years of using MySpace to help me with gang research, that I will close my account in October 2011, and move all my social media operations to Facebook, which I now have over 900 followers on there. MySpace was a useful tool a few years ago, but now most people have abandoned the site and have Facebook pages. Also this weekend I will be traveling to Yakima. While I'm there I plan on looking for gang graffiti to take photos of, and I should have them posted to Flickr by early next week. One area of interest is around N. 8th Street & East "D" Street. Last night (09/22) a La Raza gang member was shot in the face at that location. So we'll see whats going on there. That's all for now, peace! -Brad- | You can email me at:
